When four seasoned comedians realized that they could merge their love for nerd pop-culture and Stand-up, the Unlockable Characters were formed. Touring clubs and conventions all around the country, this quartet of laugh inducing ninjas revel in entertaining an audience that is often overlooked at standard venues. With a production of the utmost quality and a show specifically geared toward its varying audiences, the Unlockable Characters stand-out among its competition. Be it Anime, Comic Books, Video games or Sci-fi, these comedic scholars are well versed, despite the cost of their high school popularity.
Raised in the cold, barren lands of North Dakota, with only video games and comic books for companionship, Jake's social ineptitude comes at no surprise. His sharp tongue has no holster, which leads to hysterically pointed and obscure observational humor. He voices what most think, albeit in an amusingly convoluted and seemingly directionless way, leaving pesky niceties and tact in its wake.
Between his obscure observations, the self-deprecation and a surprising range of voices; it is difficult to pinpoint what comedic style, if any, Paul Voigt is aiming for. A large portion of his stage time is spent immersed in conversations with himself, while the audience awkwardly sits in a state of pure amusement, wondering where this insane ride will take them.
John J. Murray:
There is a good chance that John has managed to smoke every modicum of aggression out of his body, creating the most affable being in the universe. A ponderer of life's great mysteries, John puts his own spin on many of the worlds accepted beliefs, and despite how insanely far reaching, you can't help but love him and laugh at his side.
If Humor is truly formed through adversity, the combination of being a female, half-black, half-Persian Jew living in the south might well make Amy Sulam the philosophers stone of comedy. A wit honed and tempered in the fires of Mount Mordor, (should totally be a name for Memphis, TN) she holds sanctuary for no one, which one might take offense to if she wasn't ridiculously adorable.
